The Ministry Wedding Venue | Everything You Need to Know about this unique space
I have a confession. When I was invited to tour The Ministry as a wedding venue, I thought I knew exactly what to expect.
A nightclub. (It’s operated by the team behind the iconic Ministry of Sound)
A really cool nightclub, admittedly, but still somewhere designed almost entirely around the party. I couldn't have been more wrong. By the time I'd finished the tour, I'd realised that it's also one of the most versatile, creative and unexpected wedding venues I've visited in London.

Why are couples choosing The Ministry as their wedding venue?
If you've been searching for alternative wedding venues in London, cool London wedding venues or unique wedding venues in London, I'm guessing one thing matters more to you than tradition - the guest experience, and for you to have one hell of a party after celebrating your love story.
You don't want your guests saying, "That was a lovely wedding."
You want them saying, "I've never been to a wedding like that before."
That's exactly what Ministry offers. It's a venue that refuses to fit neatly into one category. Modern without feeling cold. Industrial without feeling harsh, and stylish without taking itself too seriously.
I'm also incredibly proud to say that I'm now one of The Ministry’s preferred celebrants, so if you've found this page because you're planning a Ministry of Sound wedding and you're looking for someone to create a ceremony that's every bit as memorable as the celebration that follows, I'd absolutely love to hear from you.
It's not one venue. It's a whole wedding experience.
One of the biggest surprises for me was just how many different spaces there are.
Across the entire venue, it can accommodate events of well over 1,000 guests, although weddings typically make use of a carefully curated selection of spaces, giving you the freedom to create a day that feels beautifully personal rather than overwhelming.
The iconic White Space is licensed for ceremonies and comfortably seats around 90 guests or can accommodate up to 200 standing, making it ideal for everything from intimate ceremonies to larger celebrations before the party begins. Whether you're dreaming of a minimalist ceremony with white roses and candles or something colourful, bold and completely contemporary, the space adapts beautifully.
Guests can then drift out onto the terraces with a drink in hand, via the gorgeous exposed brick and beam bar area. Plush velvet sofas, endless tropical plants and effortlessly cool Brooklyn loft vibes a plenty.
As we explored further, I discovered an underground cinema room that immediately sparked ideas. Imagine surprising your guests with childhood videos, engagement footage or messages from loved ones who couldn't be there. They’ve been known to host cosy cinema screenings for the bridal party, the night before the wedding here too- genius.
Then there was my favourite little detail. A photo booth you have to pass through to enter the ladies' toilets. It's completely unexpected, slightly mischievous and absolutely brilliant. You just know that's where some of the funniest photos of the entire day (and night!) will be taken.
Those are the kinds of touches that make a venue memorable.
Who is a Ministry wedding perfect for?
As I walked around the venue, I kept thinking about the couples who'd feel most at home here. Maybe you met at a festival, or you've spent more weekends at gigs and quirky bars than in garden centres. Maybe your playlists have soundtracked your relationship from the very beginning. Or perhaps you've simply never pictured yourselves getting married in a posh manor house or country barn because... it just isn't you.
I think The Ministry attracts couples who value personality over protocol. People who care about atmosphere and would rather invest in an unforgettable experience than follow traditions that don't mean anything to them.
It's perfect for creatives, music lovers, city dwellers and couples who want a wedding that's unmistakably modern without feeling like it'll date in five years' time.
Most of all, I think it's for people who want their wedding to feel like the greatest party they've ever hosted!

If you've already booked The Ministry and you're now searching for a celebrant, you've landed in exactly the right place.
As one of the venue's preferred celebrants, I've had the opportunity to get to know the spaces and the amazing events team behind the scenes - that will impact the flow of your day and the atmosphere. That epic combination makes weddings here feel so different from anywhere else in London.
My job isn't simply to stand at the front and conduct your ceremony. It's to create a ceremony that feels like it belongs here.
One that's relaxed, joyful, funny, deeply personal and with total creative freedom, because let’s face it, if you've chosen a venue as iconic as Ministry of Sound, your ceremony should feel every bit as original, and I already know you’re a couple who do things differently!
Thinking more about your ceremony, if you’re stuck on modern leaning readings and poems, I’ve got you covered here.

I left my tour with the lovely Louis with one overwhelming thought. This isn't a nightclub that happens to host weddings.
